VHS & Video Transfers in Crows Nest

We transfer compatible videotapes to DVD-R or digital files, depending on the service selected. DVD orders include chapter points and on-screen chapter menus so you can move between scenes more easily.

Videotapes deteriorate through age, storage conditions and repeated playback. Transferring them creates a copy that is easier to view, share and back up, while reducing reliance on ageing tape players.

There is no single lifespan for videotape. Condition depends on age, storage, tape quality and how often it has been played. Heat, humidity, dust, mould and repeated playback can all cause deterioration, so important recordings should be transferred before visible damage or playback problems develop.

Videotape transfers have a minimum turnaround of two weeks and are generally completed within two to four weeks. Movie film transfers usually take about three weeks. Orders with additional services may require more time.

DVD capacity depends on the recording length and selected output. Pricing covers up to two hours per tape; staff can confirm whether a longer recording requires an additional disc or charge.

Yes. When processing is complete, your original videotapes are returned with the finished order.

We handle customers' recordings carefully and track each job with a unique identification number. Original tapes are returned with the completed order.

We visually check tapes for dirt, dust, damage and wear. A tape that appears unsafe to play will be returned rather than run through the transfer equipment.

Finished discs are checked for playback. If a transfer remains unsuccessful after another attempt, the original tape will be returned and no processing charge will apply.

Pixels Plus does not offer video editing. Contact us if you are unsure whether your tape format can be transferred.

DVD-R discs work with most compatible DVD players and computers that have a DVD drive and suitable playback software. Some older players and devices without optical drives may not support them. For current phones, tablets and computers, a digital-file transfer may be more convenient.

Every DVD or CD is checked as part of our quality-control process. A disc found to be defective will be replaced. Transfer quality is limited by the condition and image quality of the original recording.

Copyright-protected material cannot be submitted for conversion without the copyright owner's permission. This includes commercial videos, recorded television programs and professionally produced wedding videos unless you have the videographer's written permission.

We will not knowingly process any videotape that contains illegal or obscene content if we discover such a tape. Pixels Plus reserves the right to refuse service for that particular order.
